Maluma Just Invented “Courtside Formal”

"You're living in the past" is generally thought to be an insult, used to suggest that the mark in question just hasn't caught up to the present. Let us then be very clear: when we say Maluma is living in the past, we mean it in the most complimentary way possible. Because the Colombian singer took in a Knicks game from courtside seats while dripping in 1977's finest finery, all filtered—naturally—through Alessandro Michele's magical everything-old-is-new Gucci filter. And he looked marvelous.

This isn't his usual lane—he can do everything from skinny-jeans-and-boots-Jagger to aggro neon post-streetwear—but we've got to say it suits him. The guy truly puts the beast in double-breasted, and we're tempted to run out and buy a pair of enormous sunglasses that don't really block the sun. But mostly, we're impressed by the commitment. When you're dressed like Clyde Frazier to watch Frank Ntilikina, you get major bonus points for rooting so hard that your enormous pendant starts flying.
