Former President Barack Obama's 22-year-old daughter Malia Obama has landed a major entertainment gig, the Hollywood Reporter reports. Sources tell the outlet that Malia has been hired to join the writers' room of Donald Glover's new Amazon project Hive. The "potential" series is "rumored to revolve around a Beyoncé-like figure and stem from writer Janine Nabers (Watchmen, Away)," the outlet wrote.

Glover is reported to have signed a multi-year, eight-figure deal with Amazon where he will executive produce multiple projects for Amazon and its streaming platform.

Malia began her third year at Harvard University in August 2019, meaning she will likely finish her fourth year in May 2021 if she hasn't already graduated early. She notably interned for HBO's Girls in 2015 when she was just 17, so she has a years-long history in the industry.

Malia and her younger sister, Sasha, have lived their late high school and college years privately following their father's exit from the White House, so not much is known about their day-to-day lives or career hopes. But Barack shared a little rare insight on what Malia and Sasha are like in an interview with InStyle in November.

He said, "Sasha is, as Malia describes it, completely confident about her own take on the world and is not cowed or intimidated—and never has been—by anybody’s titles, anybody’s credentials. If she thinks something’s wrong or right, she will say so. When she was 4, 5, 6 years old, once she made a decision, she would dig in and couldn’t be steered off it. I write about it in the book, how we were trying to get her to taste caviar when we were visiting Russia. She was like, 'Mnn-nnh. No. Sorry. That looks slimy. It’s nasty. I’m not going to do it—even if I’ve got to give up dessert.' And that part of her character has always been there."

"And Malia, she is just buoyant," Barack said of his oldest child. "She’s somebody who enjoys people, enjoys life, and enjoys conversation. She’s never bored, which is a badass quality that can take you places."
