Malbon, Tag Heuer Team for Connected Golf Watch

Malbon, the trendy golf brand, is partnering with Tag Heuer on a connected watch for golf enthusiasts.

Tag Heuer has been creating connected watches since 2015 and it launched a special golf version in 2022. But the Tag Heuer Connected Calibre E4 45MM x Malbon Golf Edition is targeted to a younger consumer with its bright colors and distinctive design. The marks the first time Tag Heuer has partnered directly with a sports brand and is Malbon’s first timepiece.

The watch and the Tag Heuer Golf app are being used by 650,000 people and allow players to track every shot, including putts. It registers distance to the hole, and each shot is also linked to a specific club, allowing the watch to actually “learn” from each player’s performance and make recommendations over time.

The watch can also be used off the course and boasts a full day of battery life and sensors that offer metrics for a range of activities including running, walking and wellness monitoring. It also features a stopwatch, timer and alarm.

The Malbon version of the watch is among Tag Heuer’s most colorful models with turquoise and green hues to match the Malbon branding. It has a bezel with 18 markings, symbolizing the 18 holes on a golf course, and the words “Golf Edition” written on it. It is housed in a 45mm titanium grade II case with a DLC coating and the strap is made from rubber and calfskin in yellow and green.

The watch is available in two different faces.

The watch is available in two faces: one with a co-branded logo and Malbon’s signature illustration of a golf ball with eyes wearing a bucket hat that changes colors as the round progresses. The second face, exclusive to this collaboration, is more subtle and is based on the Heuer 02 design.

The watch is sold with a golf balls, an extra black strap and an additional ballmarker for the clasp.

And to further extend the partnership, the companies have also created a selection of apparel items including a ripstop vest, quarter-zip sweater in neutral shades with turquoise and green details, a nylon windshirt, a pique polo, co-branded T-shirts, bucket hats, as well as a golf glove and headcovers for clubs and even a co-branded golf bag.

George Ciz, chief marketing officer of Tag Heuer, said the company has long had requests for golf merchandise, “so naturally with the collaboration with Malbon we saw an opportunity to respond to this wish. Having a capsule is a great addition to this lifestyle piece and reinforces that aspect.”

The watch will retail for $2,350 and will be sold at the four Malbon stores in the U.S. and two in South Korea as well as online.
