Makeup Vlogger Promise Tamang Transformed Herself Into Meghan Markle on Her Wedding Day
Meghan Markle's royal wedding makeup has inspired a generation — or, at the very least, a summer — of bridal beauty. As actual brides-to-be are attempting to draw inspiration from Markle's subtle, natural wedding-day look, beauty vlogger Promise Tamang transformed herself directly into the Duchess of Sussex herself. Tamang is beloved for her transformations: In the past she's turned herself into Ed Sheeran and a Bratz doll. She's also the purported inventor of the squiggle brows that shook the Internet. After all that, turning into a royal with a penchant for natural beauty was a cakewalk.
Tamang filmed the transformation for her YouTube channel, where it's gotten more than 330,000 views in just four days. She didn't stop at simply re-creating Markle's makeup — she actually made herself look more like the duchess by first using wax to elongate her nose. Then, she took Wunder2 foundation for "skin that should look flawless" with a "natural finish." She moved on to contouring with Nabla Cosmetics concealer and an OPV Beauty foundation stick, followed by a Too Faced setting powder.
To add Markle's subtle hints of color and rosy complexion, Tamang turns to the Charlotte Tilbury Instant Eye Palette, Too Faced Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush, and Benefit Hoola Matte Bronzer. "It looks like she always has a sweep of brown eye shadow on her lower lash line," she says, so Tamang does the same and brightens the inner corners with a white eye shadow. She finishes the transformation into Markle with freckles dotted onto the face with a brown eye pencil and a soft pink lip created with nude liner and pink gloss. She even curls a few pieces of her hair — the instantly iconic Markle tendrils — and adds a veil for good measure.
