Rachael Ray's husband John Cusimano has definitely popped up on her morning show here and there (and even contributed to Rachel's cookbooks in the past). But even the most devout fans who watch The Rachael Ray Show every day probably don't know a whole lot about the pair's 14-year marriage.

As it turns out, Rachael and John's story goes back to one very late evening at a mutual friend's birthday party where they met. Not surprisingly, their conversation revolved around food. Apparently, they hit it off, because, as Rachael said on her show once, she and John stayed out until 4 a.m. that night.

"We walked directly across the room to each other ... my husband and I have been together on the phone or in person every single day since the night we met," she dished to AOL in 2014.

Despite Rachael's career on TV and John's gig as a lead singer for an independent rock band called The Cringe, the pair managed to carve out time to be together. And on November 5, Rachael and John decided to tie the knot, and did so in Tuscany, Italy in a castle.

Just over a year after exchanging vows in Italy, the pair found themselves in the middle of a huge scandal. In November 2006, the National Enquirer put the famed chef on the cover along with the headline "Rachael Ray's secret pain, husband caught cheating." The tabloid claimed that John had a five-year relationship with a Florida woman (that, allegedly, continued after the pair had gotten married). On top of that, the outlet reported that another woman claimed he paid her to "satisfy his weird fetishes with acts too degrading to print." At the time, Rachael and John denied the rumors.

Addressing all the tabloid reports that the two had a rocky marriage, Rachael said that all the rumors were nothing but "junk."

“Everybody gossips … but this stuff is hurting people’s feelings who are in our families and friends of ours,” Rachael told her audience in 2007. “They worry about us.”

Unfortunately, Rachael's plea for the tabloids to leave her alone was ignored. In 2013, the Enquirer claimed John was spotted at a swingers' club in New York City without Rachael. What's more, the "source" alleged that John was "always accompanied by female companions." Once again, the couple said that the claims were not true, and John looked into taking legal action against the publication.

Since then, thankfully, there haven't been any notable scandals surrounding the couple. On a much more positive note, Rachael and John decided to renew their vows in the same Italian castle they got married in for their 10-year anniversary in 2015. And by the sounds of it, Rachael and John are still head over heels for each other. For the vow renewal ceremony, Rachael recited Charles Bernstein's poem entitled "All the Whiskey in Heaven."

“It basically says, ‘Under any circumstance, I would still choose you and I would still be with you. And I love you more than all the whiskey in heaven,'” Rachael gushed to People in 2015.

Today, the couple live happily together with their 14-year-old rescue pup, Isaboo.
