Last weekend was filled with memorable fashion moments-from Glenn Close’s Wes Gordon-designed golden gown featuring four million beads, to Jason Momoa’s pink velvet tuxedo and matching scrunchie-but the Oscars’s red carpet wasn’t the only fashion extravaganza of the weekend. Last Saturday, Maison de Mode celebrated its second annual Sustainable Style Gala at the Sunset Tower in Los Angeles. Guests including Karolina Kurkova, Nadja Swarovski, and Lydia Hearst, celebrated honorees Dr. Jane Goodall and Caroline Scheufele, the Artistic Director and Co-President of Chopard, who both walked away with awards. Realized by New York City-based decorator Sasha Bikoff, the gala featured a “green carpet” arrival moment with beautiful custom runners made of recycled materials. In keeping with the night’s theme, every dining table was elegantly dressed in organic silk cloths and guests were served sustainable caviar-the only kind worth eating. It was Maison de Mode's perfect blend of luxury fashion and good clean, ethical good times that made for a perfect way to kick off the Academy Awards.
