Maine Lifties Share Hilarious Dance To Combat Cold During Wind Holds

We've all heard of snow dances, but get ready for... wind hold dances?

Lifties from Sugarloaf Mountain in Maine posted a hilarious documentation of what really goes on when the lifts stop spinning during work hours.

It looks like they're doing the Cotton Eyed Joe, but with all that gear on, it's hard to say!

One Instagram commented noted the hardcore weather conditions at the Loaf, saying "they must get a ton of practice."

The weather at Sugarloaf can be intense, but we'd have to hand it to them for keeping things open as often as they do. I recall days where it was very much sub-zero, freezing cold winds, heavy snowfall, etc, and no matter what, those lifts were spinning.

Besides King Pine and Timberline, of course, which seems like are the first to go when the weather's acting up!

It's okay, though, we'll all just stick to SuperQuad and the T-Bar (newer isn't always better, right?).

Another user joked that this routine should be referred to as "line dancing," and we'd have to agree.

It seems like the snow dances worked at the Loaf, because in the last week, the mountain has seen 24 fresh inches of powder. Not bad for Maine, right?

What's your favorite ski-related dance? I prefer to pass the time doing yoga in my warm room, inside, or going to the gym, when the weather's too bad to ski.

But to everyone who perseveres, props to you, and thank you for defending the East Coast's hardcore reputation!
