Maine Coon Cat's Brilliant Magician Skills Are Totally Awe-Inspiring

They say that cats are smart — or maybe they say that cats are just smarter than dogs. Either way, a new video online has us believing that one Maine Coon Cat owned by Wildlife Nation's Jeff Corwin is practically a genius. And people online sort of agree.

Corwin was playing around with his cat when he found out just how smart the Maine Coon was.

Corwin was testing his Maine Coon Cat's intelligence in a super cool video online. In the footage, Crowin first showed his cat a cherry tomato and then placed it under one of three cups. The wildlife host then scrambled the cups so that it wouldn't be clear where the tomato was hiding.

Not only did the Maine Coon follow Corwin's actions astutely, the cat accurately guessed where the tomato was. It was amazing!

"My Millie, the Maine coon cat, is the 'smahhtest' cat on the planet, she could go to 'Hahvahd!'" Corwin joked in the caption. And people online definitely agreed.

"I wasn’t born yesterday Jeff I know what I’m doing," one person in the comments section joked as if speaking on Millie's behalf. "Cat is like: these humans are easily entertained," another commenter teased. "But why isn't she getting a treat after every correct response?" another commenter, who joked that they were Millie's lawyer, added. "I'm shocked she cares so much about something she doesn't even want to eat, that's amazing!" one woman exclaimed.

Maine Coon Cats Are Intelligent

It goes without saying that Millie is pretty darn smart, but that's true of most Maine Coon Cats out there. The breed is not only intelligent, but rapidly takes in their surroundings and can adapt.

They are able to recognize patterns and routines and can even learn tricks if you train them. In fact their ability to learn tricks is one of many reasons why Maine Coons are very popular pets. Maine Coons have been known to learn how to roll over, give a high five, and even close doors.

Another cool thing that Maine Coon Cats can do is be leash trained. These cats like to explore the great outdoors and when started young, are comfortable being walked on their leash like a dog.

The breed is also known for being incredibly empathetic. Maine Coon Cats are frequently therapy animals and provide comfort to people in need. These cats are just amazing. It's no wonder that Millie knew where that tomato was. She's one impressive cat.
