Maine Coon Cat Walking on a Leash Proves the Breed Is 'the Most Dog-Like'

If you spend much time scrolling through pet content on social media, you've likely heard that 'there's a dog for everyone' out there. As it turns out, there's probably a cat out there for everyone, too! Some people out there may not be interested in having a pet at all, but for those who are, it's hard not to be fascinated by at least one cat breed. There really is a cat for most people out there; there's even a cat for dog people!

One California cat owner is getting people talking after she posted a video of her huge Maine Coon cat, Cobra, walking on a leash just like a dog. Thanks to his size he could be mistaken for a dog at first glance, but he's just a very large cat. Even so, he's showing everyone why Maine Coons are considered to be the most dog-like kitty!

OMG! I would definitely do a double-take if I saw this gorgeous feline strutting down the street. He doesn't seem to mind the leash or harness at all, and he even paused to check on his owner while they strolled. This guy definitely enjoys his 'cat walks!'

As viewer @enbugg.og commented on the video, "every other cat" can walk outside on a leash, too. It's not just the largest domestic cat breed! A feline's temperament and interests matter more than their breed if you're considering walking outside--as long as you can find a leash and harness that will fit them, that is.

Cobra is all set to go on adventures with his little backpack, harness, and leash, but that's not the only thing he does that's dog-like. His owner has posted videos of him lapping up water like a dog, and even circling before lying down, on their TikTok account @gemmaandfriends5. He's proof that a dog-loving cat owner really can have the best of both worlds!
