Magnolia on the Green offers seasonal menu, refreshed dining space at Salem Golf Club

Magnolia on the Green, Salem Golf Club's new restaurant, soft opened last spring.

The American restaurant is the sister to Silverton's Magnolia Grill, owned by Raul Santana and Lindsay Allen. Formerly Whiskey Brown's Farmhouse Kitchen, the couple took over the restaurant space in mid-April.

The interior was spruced up, with some repainting and reorganizing.

The menu is seasonal and highlights local produce while catering to folks' changing tastes. The fall menu includes a Shepard's pie and a popular root salad that's also been on the Silverton restaurant's menu. The cocktail menu will gain a couple additions as well, including a pear lemon drop and smoked old fashions.

Brunch is offered 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday-Sunday. Dinner service runs from 2:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday and from 2:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Part of the restaurant is a cafe, offering lighter meals tailored to golfers looking to grab a quick bite.

Now that the restaurant is established, the couple said it's been fun to see familiar faces from Silverton come to Salem. Former Whiskey Brown regulars are back, and it's been long enough now that the new restaurant has its own regulars too, Allen said.

The restaurant is accepting reservations for gatherings and parties.

The restaurant did not have an official grand opening, but there are potential plans to add casual evening events after the new year, Allen said.

In the meantime, reservations for Thanksgiving Day dining are available. The restaurant will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., offering a set three-course menu and special a la carte options. Reservations are highly recommended.
