Magnet "Fisherman" Hook Abandoned Bikes In Amsterdam's Waterways

There are many different methods people use to fish. Everything from nets to rods to TNT to spearguns are tools people use to catch fish.

There is one type of haul that requires a unique set of tools; Fishing bicycles out of the river. Watch Leigh from Bondi Magnets go fishing for bikes. The haul might surprise you.

In this video, Leigh Webber, a famous treasure hunter, goes to Amsterdam and casts his signature magnets into the canals. He expected to find a bike or two, but Webber picked up bike after bike. At the end of the video, Webber jokingly has the tally at 1000.

How this many bikes ended up in the canal is hard to say. Some speculated that they were put in there for a convenient set of clips.

Though that is always a possibility, you would be wise to never underestimate the destructive tendencies of drunk young adults. Watch below as a horde of drunk college students eggs their buddy on as he throws a Lime Scooter in the river seemingly just to do it.

Why this behavior happens is beyond me, but thankfully there is a person out there dedicated to cleaning out waterways with special magnets. And people got bikes out of it!
