Madewell Launched a Stylish Clog Collection With This Nurse-Loved Brand

Some collaborations are so organic, you have to wonder how they weren’t always a duo: Ben Affleck and Dunkin’, Hailey Bieber’s glazed-donut skin and… well, a glazed donut, and Goop and Poosh, to name a few. Another one to add to the list? Madewell and Dansko’s clog collection that’s already selling out.
Combining Madewell’s high-quality leather and modern approach with Dansko’s famously comfortable footwear, the collection features two shoe styles that are as stylish as they are practical — the Brinn Mule and Brenna Clog.

The slip-on Brinn mule is available in black and a statement speckled calf hair, both of which feature a sleek silver buckle and swivel strap that can be worn on top of the shoe or around the ankle. (It was also available in a trendy metallic that’s since sold out.) It’s a classic silhouette that looks just as good with jeans as it does with mini skirts and dresses, as proven by Katie Holmes and Gisele Bündchen.

Fans of Dansko’s mules have described the comfort of its slip-on styles as “supportive and comfortable” enough to be their “everyday shoes.” “I’ve primarily only worn Danskos since starting nursing 35 years ago. [They’re my] most comfortable shoes ever,” gushed one shopper about the brand’s Berry mules. And according to someone else who said that the shoes “eased [their] back arthritis,” the swivel strap is incredibly versatile, giving them the “freedom” to wear the shoes as slip-ons while offering extra “hold” when secured around the ankle.
The collaboration also features a closed-back clog in a gray, oiled suede. This style is minimalist and classic, so it’ll easily pair with pretty much anything in your closet. And as far as comfort and support goes, similar Dansko shoe styles have the stamp of approval from those who stand on their feet for hours. “These are the best shoes for all-day shifts at the hospital,” wrote one person about the Professional clogs, while another said, “I work in the operating room and have been wearing Dansko my whole career. I love them.” According to a nurse who started wearing the brand for work, the clogs also helped them recover from a foot injury. “I can [now] walk virtually pain-free because of the comfort and stability my Danskos give me,” they raved.
