We love the holidays at Good Housekeeping especially because this time of year means there's lot of reasons to make homemade cookies. Throughout our history we've crafted amazing holiday treats out of gingerbread but this year we wanted to MAKE THEM HUGE.
So we turned to the amazing experts at the Institute of Culinary Education and found pastry and baking arts chef-instructor Penny Stankiewicz who's made giant edible masterpieces in the past. We told her our dream and she was just brave enough to help us achieve it.
Watch as we take 27 pounds of gingerbread, some modeling chocolate and 17 pounds of royal icing and make it into larger-than-life gingerbread people.
