Machine Gun Kelly’s engagement ring to Megan Fox is made of "thorns"

Machine Gun Kelly just revealed that the almond-shaped emerald and diamond engagement ring he proposed to Megan Fox with not only cost $340,000 but is designed to be like thorns.

He recently told Vogue, “The bands are actually thorns. So if she tries to take it off, it hurts.” While that does sound *slightly* bizarre, MGK’s reasoning behind the quirk is that “love is pain!”

Some people have been keen to point out that this 'love is pain' mentality could set a potentially harmful example for younger fans.

The couple made headlines again earlier this month after announcing their engagement on Instagram. It came after Kelly proposed to Megan under the banyan tree in Puerto Rico where they first started their relationship back in 2020.

Sharing the happy news, Kelly wrote, "Yes, in this life and every life 💍 beneath the same branches we fell in love under, I brought her back to ask her to marry me.

"I know tradition is one ring, but I designed it with Stephen Webster to be two: the emerald (her birth stone) and the diamond (my birth stone) set on two magnetic bands of thorns that draw together as two halves of the same soul forming the obscure heart that is our love. 1-11-2022 ✨"

And in Megan’s post, she wrote: "In July of 2020 we sat under this banyan tree / We asked for magic / We were oblivious to the pain we would face together in such a short, frenetic period of time. Unaware of the work and sacrifices the relationship would require from us but intoxicated off of the love. And the karma.

"Somehow a year and a half later, having walked through hell together, and having laughed more than I ever imagined possible, he asked me to marry him. And just as in every lifetime before this one, and as in every lifetime that will follow it, I said yes.

"…and then we drank each other’s blood 1.11.22 ✨"

The last line of her post also sparked a lot of interest, with many fans reacting to the statement.

One Twitter user said: “Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly are gonna have a blood pact at their wedding”, and another joked: “Baby Jennifer's Body was not supposed to become a reality.”

But with their whirlwind romance seeing them wearing vials of each other's blood, (a repeat of Angelina Jolie and Billy Bob Thornton’s relationship, anyone?) arriving at events chained together, and tattooing their names on one another, we wouldn’t expect anything less, really.

The pair join fellow newly goth-girlfriend-and-pop-punk-boyfriend couple Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker in their engagement, and all hail the return of the rockstar relationship (and all the extra things that come with it) we say.
