MAC (Not Kylie Cosmetics) Is the Most Popular Beauty Brand of 2016

We wouldn’t be shocked if Kylie Jenner started rethinking her PR strategy (or blasting momager Kris) after learning that MAC is this year’s most popular beauty brand. According to the “Best of Polyvore: 2016” trend report, the OG makeup company is still the most searched among the social commerce site’s community of users.

No doubt the young reality TV star’s risqué marketing ploys of teasing her cult Lip Kits have made a huge impact on the beauty biz. Though mounting customer service complaints and that “F” rating from the Better Business Bureau had to hurt her reputation quite a bit. But not all is lost for Kylizzle, as the 19-year-old beat out Rihanna for Polyvore’s Top Female Fashion Icon of the year. Shocker! Not to mention the Kylie Jenner effect could possibly be the reason why nude lipstick came out on top as the No. 1 item.

NARS ranked as the No. 2 beauty brand, with its iconic Orgasm Blush in the accompanying spot on Polyvore’s list of popular products.
