Ever since last month, when Ariana's ex, Mac Miller, died of an apparent overdose, she has been struggling to recover. According to TMZ, while Ariana didn't blame herself for Mac's death, it still affected her greatly.

A source close to Ari told TMZ that after Mac's passing, the singer realized a few things, one being that she got engaged way too fast and she "couldn't be fully invested in her relationship with Pete."

Despite this, Ari didn't show too many signs of these feelings. She supported her now ex-fiancé, going to the Saturday Night Live set to watch him on the show. She also continued to post videos and photos with Pete on Instagram.

However, the breakup comes after fans noticed that Pete covered over the Dangerous Woman tattoo on his neck, which initially caused people to think there might be some issues in the relationship. When he covered the tattoo, however, he added an "A" next to the new heart, likely for Ari's name. So, it's hard to say if the tattoo cover up meant anything at all.

Neither Pete nor Ariana have commented on the breakup and they have both been quiet on social media.
