Following on the heels of last year's wildly successful collection inspired by singer Selena Quintanilla (it sold out so fast that MAC had to bring the range back last December just to meet the demand) MAC has just announced that next summer they'll be filling shelves (and our makeup bags) with a brand new collection inspired by R&B star Aaliyah.

The actress and singer, known for her hits like "Are You That Somebody" and "Try Again" as well as her roles in films like Romeo Must Die and Queen of the Damned passed away in a tragic accident in 2001, but her legacy has lived on among her fans.

"Aaliyah is truly one in a million - an unstoppable icon whose groundbreaking work in R&B music and film inspires us all," the brand wrote in their Instagram announcement. "Today we join her countless fans in celebrating her with the announcement of the M·A·C Aaliyah collection. You made it happen! Stay tuned in 2018."

So far there's no word as to what we can expect to see in the collection, but you can bet that whatever the products are, they'll pay homage to the star's sense of style and beauty by being highly craveable.
