I’m Trying to Grow Out My Hair and This Is the One Protective Spray I Use Daily

My initial quest for healthy, hydrated, and, ideally, longer hair started with me shaving my head entirely, so there’s that. After moving to a new city and bouncing around to different stylists without giving my over-processed platinum strands the much-needed TLC they deserved, my hair was left brittle, breaking, and overall ‘blah’-inducing. I needed to hit the reset button. From there, it was up to me to make the most of my fresh start by sticking to a hair care regimen that would keep me on track.

After spending some time in various lengths of pixies over the last year, I officially arrived at the “WHY won’t my hair grow faster?!” stage of being very much over it a few months ago. I realized that while I was using a great hydrating mask and taking care of my scalp health, I was neglecting my hair by not using a protective spray regularly. Blame it on my mindset being stuck at the length of my previous buzzcut, I don’t know. What I do know is that incorporating Bumble and bumble's Hairdresser's Invisible Oil Heat & UV Protective Primer into my daily routine has been nothing short of a game-changer.

For me, winter weather always brings with it the particular struggle of my processed hair being extra dry and prone to breakage. But ever since I began using this leave-in oil, I’ve been shocked at just how unaffected my hair’s been, and for someone who spends a significant portion of their day commuting through the city in the blistering cold (uphill both ways, of course), that’s saying a lot.

To call Bumble and bumble’s leave-in pre-styling oil the ultimate multitasking hair care product wouldn’t be an exaggeration. Not only does it condition brittle and coarse hair and protect it from hot tools and UV rays, it works as a detangler while fighting frizz and flyaways. Thanks to its ultra-conditioning blend of coconut, macadamia, sweet almond, and grape seed oil, the Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil adds shine without weighing hair down.

I’ve found that just a few sprays post-cleanse make my notoriously tangly hair much more manageable to comb through, and I like knowing it protects my strands for blowouts, irons, or whatever else I throw its way in the awkward growing-out stage. To make it even better yet, the lightweight, cruelty-free formula is free of parabens, phthalates, and formaldehyde while being suitable for all hair types.
