Fingers crossed that all these April showers bring May flowers, because here in Maryland, it’s rained nearly every day, and it’s showing no signs of letting up anytime soon. While I don’t usually mind the rain when I’m at home curled up under a warm blanket, it becomes less than favorable when I’m walking my dog or need to run errands. It’s been one too many times that I’ve gotten caught in the rain, so now I’m officially busting out my Columbia Rain Jacket, and rounding up seven other styles from Amazon worth shopping to keep me (and you) dry during the rainy season. My favorite thing about Pesion’s raincoat is that it comes in 33 colors including yellow, orange, green, black, blue, red, and more, and in sizes S to 4XL. It’s made of quick-drying material, has a classic zipper closure, drawstring hood and hem, and two front pockets. It also includes elastic cuffs and a design that falls away from the body, so it can be worn over bulkier sweatshirts and T-shirts.

I personally reach for Columbia’s Switchback III Jacket during the rainy season, because it actually keeps me dry and isn’t “ugly.” It comes in 53 colors, including black, gray, white, blue, and green, and in sizes XS through to 1X. The lightweight jacket features a 100 percent nylon shell that’s quick drying even if you’re caught in the hardest of downpours.
There’s a zipper front closure, a deep, adjustable hood, two zipper hand pockets, and adjustable cuffs to keep water out. Not to mention, it can be easily packed down for easy packing or stowing, making it ideal for travel, too. It has an easy fit that can be layered over tees and a practical length that falls slightly below the hip.

While I’m loyal to my Columbia’s coat, I can’t lie that The North Face’s Waterproof Antora Jacket has me considering adding another one to my collection. It comes in 34 prints and colors like black, navy, pink, yellow, green, floral, and abstract, and sizes XS to 1X. It’s made from recycled material that’s waterproof, breathable, and wind-resistant. There’s a zipper front closure with a panel over top to keep rain and wind out, two zip pockets, and an adjustable hood and cuffs. The fit is contoured to the body for a more flattering shape, but can still be layered over medium-weight clothing, and falls to about the mid-hip.
