M&M's Debuts First-Ever All-Female Candy Packaging in Honor of Powerhouse Women

But they won't last long.

For the first time ever, select M&M packaging will feature a cast of all-female characters.

Parent company Mars is releasing the new packaging to spotlight "dynamic female M&M'S characters" in celebration of "women everywhere who are flipping the status quo," as revealed in a Jan. 5 press release.

The limited-edition packs feature Brown, Green, and recently-introduced Purple, and will exclusively contain brown, green, and purple candies.

"The M&M'S brand is on a mission to use the power of fun to create purposeful connections, as we work to create a world where everyone feels they belong," Gabrielle Wesley, Chief Marketing Officer, Mars Wrigley North America said in the release. "Women all over the world are flipping how they define success and happiness while challenging the status quo, so we're thrilled to be able to recognize and celebrate them – and who better to help us on that mission than our own powerhouse spokescandies Green, Brown and Purple?"

To represent the flip, the packaging shows the three female spokescandies standing upside down above a note: "Supporting women flipping the status quo."

M&M's will also be supporting organizations that uplift and empower women who are doing amazing things in both their fields of work and everyday lives. The brand is donating $1 from each pack sold—totaling $500,000—to strategic partnerships with She Is The Music and We Are Moving the Needle. They're also donating another $300,000 to Female Founder Collective and the Geena Davis Institute On Gender In Media, as well as directly to women who are doing the work on the ground.

Now through Jan. 15, you can visit MMS.com to nominate women in their lives who are flipping the status quo for their chance to earn a $10,000 grant. Ten winners will be announced on International Women's Day, March 8.

As part of the initiative, Mars has also teamed up with six female creators to help build additional content inspired by Brown, Green and Purple. They've also brought their own programs to fruition to spotlight women, such as the #HereToBeHeard global listening study, which amplifies intersectional voices, and the Full Potential global platform, which advances gender equality in the Mars workforce.
