I’m 64 but look much younger — thanks to the one simple food rule I always follow

64 and look younger harrah brown
Harrah Brown, 64, began working out just a few short years ago, documenting her transformation on TikTok.

A sexagenarian social media star is reeling in millions of supportive viewers who can’t believe she’s old enough to be their grandmother.

Harrah Brown, 64, posts regularly to TikTok about her quest to remain “beautiful, fit and confident at any age,” leaving appreciative watchers wowed by videos of her simply exiting a swimming pool, or giving herself a youthful hair style.

Now, Brown, who lives in the United States and says she only began working out at 61, is explaining how she manages to keep fit and stay so youthful looking at her age — and it’s all down to one simple food rule she always follows, and what she puts in her shopping bag on her regular runs to Whole Foods, she says.

“These are the types of foods I buy each week. I practice the 90/10 rule,” she wrote in her captions. “Ninety percent nutrient-dense foods while eating at home and 10 percent fun foods when going out to eat.”

Brown told her audience that sticking to the plan has helped her shed belly fat she gained during menopause, making her “more lean and strong.”

The spry senior went on to show exactly what she shops for in the video — here, some of her favorite foods and why they’re so good for you, as first reported by The Express.

Blueberries and raspberries

Berries are among the healthiest foods you can eat, according to multiple studies.

“On average, people who eat more berries seem to live a little bit longer,” Eric Rimm, professor of epidemiology and nutrition at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, told the Washington Post in 2021.

A cup of fresh berries a day when they’re in season is a good guideline, Rimm suggested, though many experts don’t frown on frozen berries, either.

Olive oil

A cornerstone of the revered Mediterranean Diet, a 2023 study showed that olive oil can “blast belly fat caused by aging,” the kind that Brown battled herself.

Olive oil is also associated with heart health and longevity.

Another staple in Brown’s shopping bag, nuts like pistachios have been found to increase attractiveness.

A recent study also showed that eating certain tree nuts can also help to shrink belly fat.

Experts regularly extol nut nutrition, citing antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that can help to slow the aging process.

Salmon and halibut

Brown told her fans that she loves eating fish for dinner for the wallop of protein.

Many studies have linked the consumption of two fish meals per week with a lowered risk of mortality.

Oily fish is also brimming with antioxidants, which can help improve your look by slowing down signs of aging, dietitian Johanna Angman, from LOXA BEAUTY, told The Express.

Cucumber, romaine lettuce, green cabbage, and cilantro

Greens are a big part of Brown’s bid to stay looking young — she loves cucumbers, romaine lettuce, green cabbage and cilantro, to name a few.

Three servings of vegetables per day can contribute to longevity, according to a Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health study.

Other goodies

Brown likes yogurt for its high protein content. Also in her bag were limes, lemons, chicken breast, roast beef and some Gruyère cheese.

“These are the types of foods that I buy on a regular basis,” she said. “You’ll notice I don’t buy any cookies, no cakes, no snacks, no ice cream, no processed foods. And for me, this is how I have been able to lose my menopause belly fat and become more lean and strong.”
