Lynx Kittens Spotted At Canadian Ski Resort

Last weekend, a pair of lynx kittens were spotted near Lake Louise Ski Resort, Alberta's summer gondola.

Spotting a lynx is a rare treat -- according to the Edmonton & Area Land Trust, lynx are very elusive.

In Alberta, the cat-like creatures are vital ecosystem predators linked closely to resident snow hare populations. They dwell in Alberta's boreal forests and typically shack up in small rock caves.

Apparently, they also sound like very loud house-cats.

Maybe it's just me, but after writing that, I'm finding myself wanting a lynx as a pet. Cozying up to an overgrown Maine Coon sounds like the perfect way to end a hard day.

But that'll probably remain an unfulfilled wish because: lynx are wild animals, you can't own wild animals, they'd probably scratch me to bits, yadda yadda... Sometimes, the truth is a little boring.

Even if owning a lynx is out of the question, it sounds like Lake Louise is the place to be for would-be lynx spotters. Plus, the resort's summer sightseeing gondola delivers stellar views of the surrounding mountains.

It'd be irresponsible for me to shirk my adult responsibilities and drive to Lake Louise on the chance that I might see a lynx. So, provided you're less busy than me, I'm going to suggest that you fulfill my dreams for me.

Just make sure to take pictures if you spot a lynx and send them my direction. Gotta live vicariously somehow, y'know.
