Train travelers will have one more ultra-chic way to get from point A to point B in 2024.

Venice Simplon-Orient-Express, A Belmond Train, announced a brand new journey through Europe that’s set to begin in June of next year. The trip, the company explained in a statement provided to Travel + Leisure, will journey from Paris to Portofino along the Italian Riviera. It will mark the first time the company’s trains will visit the region in its 40-year history.

“This new, annual overnight journey will see the train winding through the French countryside and along the coastline of the Mediterranean Riviera, concluding at Splendido, A Belmond Hotel, Portofino, where guests will reside for two nights,” the company said.

Once at the hotel, guests will sit down for a meal by the train’s beloved chef, Jean Imbert, for a bespoke tasting menu.

The three-night journey departs Paris on June 20, where guests can check into their onboard rooms — each is filled with art deco touches that harken back to the golden age of rail travel. The locomotive has been upgraded to include eight brand-new suites, so now guests can choose from three room categories. This includes the train’s top-tier category, the Grand Suites, which is decorated to resemble a famed European city, including Paris, Venice, Istanbul, Vienna, Prague, and Budapest.

As the train snakes through Dijon, Lyon, and Avignon, guests can enjoy a bit of entertainment in the piano lounge, or get a bite to eat in the restaurant cars. The company promises each course will be paired with handpicked wines from its private collection.

In the morning, breakfast is served in the privacy of guests’ cabins so they can enjoy a slow few hours, sipping coffee and gazing out the window at the glorious view rolling by. That includes views of Ventimiglia, Savona, and Genoa, before pulling into Santa Margherita Ligure to then check into Splendido for the remaining two nights. The trip concludes with an exclusive film screening under the stars at Portofino's famed Piazzetta, so guests can take in those epic views too.

Prices for the train trip begin at about $8,525 per person. Prices are based on two guests sharing a Historic Cabin on the train and a Garden View Room at Splendido.
