If you loved A Quiet Place and A Quiet Place: Part II, then you’re in for a terrifying new treat.

Paramount Pictures just released the first official trailer for the third installment, A Quiet Place: Day One, which takes place before the events in the first two films. Not only does it show viewers how it all began, but it also features horror queen Lupita Nyong’o (Us) in the leading role.

The trailer begins with a glimpse of the first movie, featuring the Abbott family (John Krasinski, Emily Blunt) living in silence to avoid the wrath of the sound-sensitive creatures. Suddenly, there’s a flashback that shows Nyong’o walking through the loud streets of New York City. *Cue the car horn*

After a meteor-like alien invasion, the streets are overcome by the terrifying creatures. Somehow, Nyong’o manages to survive and quickly learns that silence is the key to staying alive.

In addition to Nyong’o, A Quiet Place: Day One also stars Alex Wolff (Pig, The Naked Brothers Band), Djimon Hounsou (Gladiator 2, Gran Turismo) and Joseph Quinn (Stranger Things, Game of Thrones).

The latest installment was directed by Michael Sarnoski (Imaginary Friends). Although the story was written by Krasinski, he wasn’t as involved as he was with the first two films.

“The franchise is in the more than capable hands of director Michael Sarnoski, even though after seeing that [footage] I gotta be honest, I’m a little jealous,” The Office alum, 44, said at CinemaCon 2023, according to People magazine. “I gave my baby away, but he did a great job.”

A Quiet Place: Day One will hit theaters in June. In the meantime, we’ll be testing out movie snacks to determine which ones are appropriate for a totally silent theater. *Crunches popcorn*
