Lupita Nyong’o Brings Goddess Glamour to the 2017 CFDAs

As one of Hollywood’s red carpet queens, Lupita Nyong’o knows how to command attention. The Black Panther star has a way of stealing the show, and at tonight’s 2017 CFDA Awards, she did so with a regal gown. Arriving on the arm of nominated designer Paul Andrew, Nyong’o wore pale gold Jason Wu with an asymmetrical neckline and significant sparkle. The custom piece highlighted Andrew’s feather-covered shoes, as did Nyong’o’s pared down glamour. Accessorizing with only her gilded heels and a diamond ear cuff, she shone simply in a crowd of heavily embellished designer looks.
Unexpected fashion choices are Nyong’o and stylist Michaela Erlanger’s speciality, but her minimalist CFDA moment felt particularly refreshing. Easy, elegant, and designed to showcase her sculpted figure, the look brought out Nyong’o’s best.
