‘Lupin’ Season 4 Has A *Lot* Of Loose Ends To Tie Up

If you spent the weekend watching Lupin, you're def not alone. The French thriller-mystery has been comfortably sitting in Netflix's top 10 for several days—and it's pretty much a must-watch. Every episode leaves you on the edge of your seat—including that cliffhanger finale (but more on that later).
ICYMI, Lupin follows "gentleman's thief" Assane Diop in pursuit of avenging his late father. Diop's father was framed for a crime he did not commit, and died shortly after beginning his prison sentence. In adulthood, Diop seeks retribution for his father, and bases his crimes off of the work of fictional thief Assane Lupin (the show's namesake).
Season 3 dropped on the streamer on October 5, and the plot is intense. At one point, Diop even fakes his own death—and things somehow get more extreme from there. What happens at the end of season 3?
Season 3 leaves off with Assane Diop in prison. He arranges to have himself arrested in exchange for his friend and main accomplice, Benjamin, and the safety of his family (or ex-girlfriend Claire, and his son, Raoul).
Once in prison, Assane is placed in a cell right next to Hubert Pellegrini, a man Assane had arrested back in Season 2. Through a cryptic message, Hubert also insinuates that someone in Assane's inner circle will betray him. Basically, Season 3 ends with Assane at a lowpoint and one of his enemies (Hubert) in a more powerful position.
Will there be a Season 4 of Lupin?
As of right now, it's unclear. Typically, streamers wait to see the success of the show before making any decisions about another season. However, given the current popularity of Lupin on Netflix—another one could be likely!
What will the plot of Lupin Season 4 be?
Again, given the fact that the series hasn't officially been renewed yet, it could be about anything. Season 3 leaves off with (spoiler) Diop in prison, so I'd imagine, if there is a Season 4, it'll pick up from there.
It also seems that Hubert Pellegrini wants revenge. Hubert is seen in the jail cell next to Diop in some of Season 3's final moments. He also quotes a line from The Revenge of the Countess of Cagliostro by Maurice Leblanc, so the fourth season may continue to pull from the plot of that novel.
When could Season 4 come out?
Since there was about two years between Season 2 and Season 3, it's likely that Season 4 of. Lupin won't come out before 2025. However, Season 1 and Season 2 are technically the same season (I know it's a little confusing) and only came out a few months apart—in January and June 2021.
The episodes of Lupin's "Part 2" on Netflix (or Season 2) are numbered six through 10, so "Part 4" (or Season 4) could also be numbered this way (picking up at eight since season 3 is seven episodes) but it isn't clear yet.
It doesn't seem likely Lupin will continue this pattern for Season 4, but it could mean Season 5 may come sooner! If there is a Season 5, of course.

Who will be in the cast of Lupin Season 4?

It's not known. Hopefully, Netflix will confirm Season 4 and Season 5 together—considering the current success of Lupin on the platform. Time will tell!
When could Season 5 come out?
If it follows the pattern for Season 1 and 2 of Lupin, Season 5 could come out as soon as 2025, but it's really unclear at this point. Season 5 will probably pick up wherever Season 4 leaves off.
