Lulu Wang's New Series Expats Will Premiere at TIFF 2023
Lulu Wang is returning to TIFF with the World Premiere of Expats, a series about the personal and professional lives of a tight-knit group of expatriates living in Hong Kong.
Starring Nicole Kidman, Sarayu Blue, Ji-young Yoo, Jack Huston and Brian Tee, the TV series consists of six episodes based on the Janice Y. K. Lee novel The Expatriates.
Set to stream on Amazon Prime Video Expats will first take a trip to Canada, where it will screen at this year's Toronto International Film Festival.

Wang's sophomore feature film, The Farewell, screened at the festival in 2019 and went on to be nominated at the 2020 BAFTA Awards for Best Film Not in the English Language.
Expats will be her biggest project since The Farewell, and audiences and critics are thrilled to see her back in the director's chair.
