Luke Bryan Shares Major Career Update With Fans: 'One Last Time'

Luke Bryan has some bittersweet news to share with his fans.

The country crooner announced this week that his Las Vegas residency at Resorts World Theatre in Las Vegas will soon be coming to an end. The silver lining? The residency will close after a lineup of new performance dates scheduled through January 2024.

The American Idol judge confirmed the news with a statement made on Wednesday, Aug. 9, as he told his fans fans, "I have truly enjoyed my time at Resorts World and offering my fans a unique way to see me perform live."

"The technology at this theatre allows us to do a completely different show than our regular tour which makes it a lot of fun for me, my team and the fans in the room," he added in his statement, obtained by Hello! Magazine.

Bryan, 47, also delivered the news directly to fans with an Instagram post on Wednesday, where he wrote in his caption, "Here we go one last time Vegas! It's never a dull moment."

The final string of dates for Bryan's shows are set to begin on Dec. 29 and 30, with a special New Year's Eve performance on Dec. 31. The last three shows will take place on Jan. 3, 5, and 6. Tickets will go on sale on Friday, Aug. 18.

Bryan's announcement comes just days after the "Country Girl" singer was forced to cancel multiple performances over the weekend as the result of a head cold that left him hardly able to speak—let alone sing.

Among the cancelled shows was his scheduled performance at the Watershed Festival held in Washington, which he was supposed to headline on Sunday, Aug. 6.

Calling it a "frustrating weekend," Bryan announced the cancellation news on Twitter, writing, "This festival is one of the most beautiful places we perform and one of the most fun crowds always. I know my friends on the show will bring a great time for you! Show them all what you got. Love ya - Luke."

Fellow country singer Lainey Wilson ended up standing in for Bryan, and the festival tried to remedy the situation by issuing refunds for a third of the base price ticket.
