In case you missed it, Luke Bryan has major news: he’s taking up residency along the Las Vegas Strip. The 45-year-old country music singer is set to take the stage at The Theatre at Resorts World on February 11-12, 16, 18-20, 23 and 25-26. While nine dates might not seem like much of a residency, if anyone can make the most of it, it’s Luke. After all, he didn’t win Entertainer of the Year five times for nothing.

Unlike past performers, like his American Idol co-star Katy Perry, Luke doesn’t plan to put on a performance brimming with dancers. "The thing for me is to keep it real authentic to what I have always been, but just use the technology behind me to really have moments where fans can be wowed," the AI judge shared in an exclusive interview with People. "The girls are able to really make it more theatrical. My thing is, I'm gonna throw my band on stage."

While some might think that relying on yourself and a band alone while standing on a stage in a massive 5,000-capacity theatre is misguided, for Luke, it makes perfect sense. Considering how much his fans have come to love his down-to-Earth approach to performing semi-solo, letting his own reign of the stage stand front and center will speak volumes — especially with The Theatre’s well-placed screens and the fact that it boasts Vegas’ tallest performance stage, complete with unobstructed views.

"The backdrop of the stage and the ability of the sound and lighting is way bigger than what we're able to do in arenas and amphitheaters," Luke said. "When fans see it, that's the first thing that really hits you is the size of the stage."

That said, Luke does plan to stretch a bit beyond his normal performance borders while taking the stage during his residency. It is Vegas, after all.

"When you're in the entertainment capital of the world, you don't wanna go up there and lay any eggs," Luke admitted. "I'm going to come out there and deliver the energy, deliver the entertainment. I think in Vegas, I've always been able to get away with really being myself, being free, and reacting with the fans in the moment. I think in Vegas, you can get away with that a little more than some conservative country music markets across the country."

Naturally, fans are thrilled over the news to see one of their favorite singers perform in such a huge way. There are literally hundreds of comments on Luke's Facebook post on January about his shows. "Can’t wait," one person wrote. "I can not wait you always put on the best concert Luke," said another. "Wow nice congratulations my dear Luke Bryan amazing," someone else wrote.

Of course, if you’re unable to make one of the dates of his residency, there’s no need to fret. Luke recently announced his latest tour — the Raised Up Right Tour — which will kick off on June 9 and make its rounds to more than 30 cities across the U.S. before coming to a close on October 28.
