Luchas Wachs Bombs Chute At Breakneck Speed

Professional skier Lucas Wachs has made a name for himself by throwing ridiculous tricks (like this one) off backcountry booters for film studios like Level 1, but that's not all the talented skier from Utah can do.

Check out the clip below where Wachs comes flying out of a steep and tight chute like a freshly-fired cannonball. Don't blink.

Some skiers will look at that clip from Wachs with disdain due to the lack of turning while others will absolutely love it. It seems as if the meta style in skiing, if you will, is hanging in the balance between the two factions.

I won't personally weigh in on the matter as I believe both styles are equally enjoyable to watch and to participate in.

Ultimately, the fluid control of a skier making many precise turns will never go out of style, in my opinion. It's the way most amateurs ski at their local resorts- *right pole plant, turn around pole, left pole plant, turn around pole, repeat.*

At the same time, it will always be exhilarating to watch professionals with absurd confidence and speed control bombing down a chute without any intention of slowing down.

Skiing is fun. Let's keep it that way. Celebrate both styles and move on.

Thanks for reading that brief rant. I've been looking for a way to get some of that off my chest for a while now.
