If You Loved ‘Serial’ & ‘Big Little Lies,’ Then You’ll Love Reese Witherspoon’s New Series ‘Are You Sleeping’
*Sniff, sniff* Do we smell the next Big Little Lies?
Apple is teaming up with book-to-series veteran Reese Witherspoon for a new thriller drama series based on Kathleen Barber’s best-selling novel, Are You Sleeping.
Witherspoon’s entertainment company, Hello Sunshine, will executive produce, and Sarah Koenig, the creator and producer of Serial, will serve as a consultant. Icing on the cake? Octavia Spencer (Hidden Figures) will star.
Are You Sleeping provides insight on America’s obsession with true-crime podcasts and the consequences that arise from publicizing these issues. Nichelle Tramble Spellman (The Good Wife) will pen the script.
This will be Witherspoon’s second gig with Apple. Back in November, the video service announced that it landed the rights to her upcoming series with Jennifer Aniston.
No further details about Are You Sleeping have been released, but it’s safe to say we’re already hooked.
