Apple TV+ is preparing to release an all-new period drama that will fill your Bridgerton void. We’re talking about The Buccaneers, which is set to premiere on November 8.

The series takes place in 1870 and follows a group of American women who travel to London for the debutant season. Their goal? To secure posh English husbands who will inevitably increase their social status. However, there’s one small problem: They must be accepted by British society. And since the American way is often frowned upon by Londonders, the ladies face a culture clash that pushes traditional boundaries.

The plot is reminiscent of Bridgerton due to the time period and focus on finding a partner. It’s also riddled with stunning costumes that resemble the fashion in the Netflix series.

The Buccaneers features a stellar cast, including Kristine Froseth (Looking for Alaska), Alisha Boe (13 Reasons Why), Josie Totah (Saved by the Bell), Imogen Waterhouse (The Outpost), Mia Threapleton (I Am Ruth), Christina Hendricks (Good Girls), Josh Dylan (Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again) and Simone Kirby (His Dark Materials).

The British period drama is written by Katherine Jakeways (Episodes), but the story is based on Edith Wharton's namesake novel. (The book was unfinished when the author passed away in 1937, but it was published posthumously the following year.) It was previously adapted into a ’95 miniseries by BBC.

Let the countdown to November 8 begin.
