What’s the saying? Everything old is new again? That’s certainly the case in the music world, where the return of vinyl albums has taken hold. According to Nielsen Music, vinyl sales were up 14.6% in 2018 with 16.8 million vinyl albums sold and last year marked the 13th consecutive year of growth for the format since the company began tracking sales in 1991.
Driving that growth figure home is the fact that Walmart – yes, Walmart – has expanded its vinyl offerings both online and in-store. So if you don’t have a dust-covered box of records to grab from the basement, check out these eight classic albums available at the retailer! Many even feature a 180-gram remaster (the heavier the better) along with bonus tracks. A handful offer Walmart-exclusive collector’s editions, too.

Elton John: Goodbye Yellow Brick Road
This double album solidified John as one of music’s greatest entertainers. Come for the hits (“Bennie and the Jets,” “Candle in the Wind”), stay for the stellar deep cuts like the wistful ballad “I’ve Seen That Movie Too” and the fuzzy rock pomp of “All the Girls Love Alice.”

Fleetwood Mac: Rumours
The Mac’s second album with Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham is all killer, no filler— from the bouncy sunshine pop of “Second Hand News” to the closing lament “Silver Springs.” Oh yeah, you can rock out to the hits too: “Go Your Own Way” and “Don’t Stop.” Rumours is one of music’s perfect albums and that it was recorded as marriages and relationships between band members were disintegrating makes it all the more remarkable.

The Beatles: Abbey Road
In 1969, the Beatles did their best to set aside their increasingly caustic personal differences and came out with a thrilling swan song. Abbey Road gets the super deluxe treatment here with a 3 LP set that includes a newly remixed stereo version of the album, along with a treasure trove of outtakes and demos.
The Rolling Stones: Let It Bleed 50th Anniversary Edition
The Stones cranked out Let It Bleed, an album that many consider to be their best. It’s filled with skronky blues workouts and dusty twang, each of which show up on the sizzling “Midnight Rambler” punctuated by the freaky choral jam “You Can’t Always Get What You Want.”
The deluxe version includes a replica signed lithograph, a poster and an 80-page hardcover book with an essay for legendary music writer David Fricke.
Nirvana: MTV Unplugged in New York
One of music’s most gripping television moments gets a 180-gram vinyl reissue for the album’s 25th anniversary. It’s a marvel to hear delicate, wistful versions of some of the band’s grungiest hits. New to this package are recordings of five songs from rehearsals that provides another intimate glimpse into the process of one of rock’s most legendary acts.
Loretta Lynn: Icon
Need an intro to the Queen of Country’s music? Pick up the short-but-sweet ICON LP. Designed as a look into the full circle of Lynn’s career, the compilation pairs her best-known tracks (“Coal Miner’s Daughter” “Rated X” and the fearless “The Pearl”) with the sweeping duets with one of her favorite collaborators Conway Twitty.
Booker T. & The M.G.’s: Melting Pot
Arguably the greatest backing band in music history, Melting Pot is the last album that features all of the original members of the Stax Records house band. Melting Pot is the band at their groovy best, with steamy Memphis soul and a foray into improvisational jams.
Prince: Purple Rain
You know the hits, the title track and “Let's Go Crazy,” but the best tracks are the sexy ballads like “When Doves Cry” and the anthemic “Darling Nikki.” But the real gems of this release is the picture disc of the iconic album cover and movie poster.
