Selena Gomez has been teasing her new song, "Love On," for a few days — and now, the wait is over. The singer, actress, and producer dropped the new track at midnight Paris time, which is fitting for the very flirty, very oh la la track. "Love On" is Gomez's first release since "Single Soon," the 2023 track that her new boyfriend, Benny Blanco, produced with Cashmere Cat. Shifting from the breakup vibes of that song, "Love On" embraces new love and a particular brand of French amour.

"Love On" also has another major distinction: it's the first song that Gomez has released since she went public with Blanco back in December 2023. While she hasn't explicitly said who the new song is about, she's been previewing it with French narration and shots of Paris on Instagram all week.

The lyrics include lines like, "Wait ’til I turn my love on / I’m no cheap thrill / I’m a rollercoaster ride, baby jump on / Come on, come on," and "This doesn’t have to be some sort of mathematical equation / Slip off your jeans, slide in the sheets, screaming “yes” in quotations / Clock in, baby get to work / Night shift but with all the perks."

As for that French twist? She adds lines like "Why we conversing over this steak tartare when we could be / Somewhere other than here making out in the back of a car / Or in the back of a bar / Or we could make a memoir, yeah / On the back wall of the last stall in the bathroom at the bazaar."

Gomez also shared Francophile-focused IG posts last summer, when she gave fans a peek at her time in the country while filming Emilia Perez with Guardians of the Galaxy star Zoe Saldaña.

"Thank you Paris for being a home to me for two months!" Gomez captioned a post on Instagram, per People. "I loved every moment. Working on this film has completely changed my life. I can't wait to share more soon! Love you all."

During her off time, she managed to fit in a visit to the storied Crazy Horse Cabaret and some shopping at Dior as well as grabbing pizza with Saldaña.
