We just learned that in country star Luke Bryan's household, Christmas morning is celebrated with the rabid enthusiasm of a game day.

Bryan told his label, UMG Nashville, that he and his wife Caroline used to pack up the kids and their presents in his tour bus and go back to Georgia for the holidays, but nowadays they prefer to be at home in Nashville. Since then, they have developed a unique tradition that any football fan would love.

“The kids are getting a little older, but they still get excited about running down the stairs Christmas morning," Bryan said. "We tape up a bunch of, in our hallway, we tape up a bunch of wrapping paper and they kind of run through the wrapping paper like a football team to see all the presents and stuff, so it’s fun."

We can picture the whole family cheering as the kids rush onto the field, then dive under the tree with enthusiasm and competitive spirit.

Bryan also mentioned they have an interesting Christmas Eve tradition: pajama night with chili dogs.

"So, we’re eating chili dogs in pajamas, and so it’s special anytime you can come up with fun traditions and hold true to them," Bryan told UMG Nashville. "Yeah, so cooking chili dogs in a onesie is pretty special.”

If you want to adopt the Bryan family tradition, it's apparently important to get the right buns and "all-beef wieners." If you like, you can play Bryan's renditions of “Run, Run Rudolph” and “O Holy Night” while you eat your hot dogs on Christmas Eve. Then, after you get the kids to bed and hang the stockings, paper over the doorway with as much Christmas wrapping paper as you can. The kids will love the big reveal when they go crashing through on Christmas morning.
