Love Island's Adam Collard has tested positive for coronavirus after travelling to Greece for a holiday. Describing the way the illness has affected him, Adam said it feels "like a bad hangover".

Posting on Instagram Stories this week, the series 4 Love Islander confirmed that he had contracted the virus, while the friend he travelled with had not. "My best mate and me shared a bed/flight for 4 days together in Greece and he’s negative and I’m positive. So it could be from anywhere," Adam wrote.

Greece is not currently on England's quarantine list, however it was announced yesterday that travellers returning from the country to Scotland as of 4am tomorrow morning (Thursday 3 September) will be required to isolate for two weeks. The move has been taken as a precaution following a "significant rise" in cases being brought into Scotland from people who have been to Greece.

Noting that "I like to think I’m fitter and healthier than the average joe," Adam Collard said his diagnosis was a reminder that "it obviously can be caught by anyone." The PT added that he had carried out more than 50 tests at his gym in Newcastle, and "all [came back] negative."

Luckily for Adam, it seems he hasn't been affected too badly by COVID-19. "For me, it’s actually ok, manageable," he wrote on Instagram, adding: "Best way to describe it is like a bad hangover with a mega dry throat. Annoying more than anything and it comes in waves."

The key symptoms of coronavirus are a fever, a dry, continuous cough, and loss of taste and smell. The former Islander didn't confirm which of the symptoms he'd had, although his description of a dry throat is possibly linked to a cough.

Being a fitness trainer by trade, Adam shared with his followers that he'd been keen to continue working out, but had been unable to because he felt "a bit fuzzy in the old head." In a later post, however, he appeared to be back in the gym, but clarified he was "aiming to simply flow but not raise the heart rate too high. Simple steady work. Don’t want to shag the CNS [central nervous system] when I’ve got that Rona Virus still kicking about," he wrote.

Here's hoping Adam has a speedy recovery.
