Love Is in the Air: Pilot Pops the Question Midflight

In the most romantic move ever, Luke DeLisio proposed to his girlfriend, Mollie-Jean Burgess, on the wings of love — airplane wings, that is.

The young couple had flown together on other occasions, but on this trip, the pilot decided to pop the question.

The best part? He captured it all on video.

In the clip you can see DeLisio strategically placing cameras inside the plane and on the wing in order to catch the reaction of his soon-to-be fiancée.

After takeoff, Burgess looks totally clueless, staring off into the sky and snapping photos. That’s when DeLisio pops the question.

“Mollie, I just want to let you know that I really really love you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you,” he said.

Burgess smiles and seems to be in shock as DeLisio flies the plane over a football field with “Marry Me?” written in bed sheets.

As Burgess’s eyes fill with tears, DeLisio slyly pulls a ring out from behind the seat and asks, “Will you marry me?”

Burgess says yes, and the couple smiles and looks into each other’s eyes. There is no over-the-top PDA because, well, he was flying a plane. Either way, the couple looks adorably happy, and DeLisio looks relieved that he was able to pull it off.

“I’m so appreciative of how it all came together,” Burgess told ABC. “Luke is the most thoughtful person ever; it was definitely the best day of my life up to this point.”

As the plane touched down, friends and family met them on the ground to celebrate.

And although they were back on land, something tells us they were still on Cloud Nine.
