Here's a fun bit of trivia for the back of your brain: National Ice Cream Day and National Tattoo Day are both the same day, July 17. So this year, the ice cream novelty brand Drumstick is hoping to bring some synergy to these two important holidays by putting a chocolate-dipped spin on a classic promotion: Anyone who gets a Drumstick tattoo will have a chance to win a year's worth of free sundae cones.

Now, savvy readers are likely thinking, Wait, a tattoo is a pretty lifelong commitment to only get a "chance" at a "year's" worth of ice cream. And they wouldn't be wrong, because this sweepstakes comes with an important caveat. As Drumstick explains, "The tattoo can be real, temporary, Mini Drum, Lil Drum, drawn on with a sharpie… however you decide to express your love for Drumstick."

Whatever your body marking of choice, for a chance to win your free cones, you have to share a photo of your Drumstick tattoo on either Instagram or Twitter, tag @Drumstick, and add the hashtag #DrumstickInk. (The brand says also make sure you're following @Drumstick on whichever platform you're entering through.) The sweepstakes officially starts today and entries are being accepted util the end of the month, July 31.

Now, unfortunately, Drumsticks provides no additional bonus for those willing to go full needle. In the end, Drumstick says five winners will be picked at random out of all eligible entities — which, frankly, seems like a bit of a letdown to their most steadfast fans. But, hey, tattoos are all about the story behind them — sometimes the dumber the better — and is there a dumber story than to say you got a Drumstick tattoo and you didn't even win a year's supply of ice cream? That'll put every "Mom" tattoo on Earth to shame!
