‘Love Is Blind' Season 4: Who Will Get Married—and Who Will Break Up?

Check out our predictions after Week 1.

The first five episodes of Love Is Blind, Netflix’s very important (and very scientific) social experiment, are now streaming—and they do not disappoint. The Week 1 drop features love triangles, mean girls and one very ill-conceived serenade. But does it introduce us to any real-deal couples? Will any of the contestants fulfill the deep and meaningful promise of the show?

Let’s analyze the five couples to emerge from the pods this season, and predict who will make it to the altar—and who will break up. (Warning: Spoilers abound!)

Kwame and Chelsea

There’s no denying that Kwame and Chelsea have chemistry, but do they have what it takes to make it to the altar? Not with Micah in the picture!

Micah was Kwame’s first choice out of the pods, and much to her delight (because she relishes—no, demands—his attention), he doesn't seem to be over her. The two openly flirt at the cast pool party, prompting our resident truth-teller Jackie to say she’d behead him if he were her man, and Kwame admits in a confessional interview that he’s still drawn to his one-time mystery flame.

“She’s really beautiful,” he says. “I’m attracted to her, I’m sorry.” (Translation: He’s not sorry!)

Later, when Chelsea calls him out for cozying up to his pod-ex, he explains that he needed “closure.” So did he get it, she wants to know? “Not fully,” he says. “But enough.” Jackie would have reattached Kwame’s head just so she could take it off again, but that’s not Chelsea’s style. She’s mad, sure, but she’s mostly determined to talk things out with Kwame until he tells her what she wants to hear.

“I’m good exactly where I am,” he says, understanding the assignment. “…I can guarantee that I would not have even marginally as good a connection [with Micah].”

Will they get married? No. Kwame is a sales manager, and he seems to be selling a lie to both himself and Chelsea. He wants their relationship to work, but at this point, it seems unlikely.

Micah and Paul

Spoiler: Micah and Paul have nothing in common. He's an analytical environmental scientist who's used to, in his own words, dating "granola" women; she's an emotional marketing manager who's idea of "granola" is three shots of tequila instead of five. The only reason they wound up together was because Micah couldn't fathom a world in which Paul's other connection, flight attendant Amber, won his affection over her.

Sure, they have their cute moments, like when they kissed in the cenote. But if Micah and Paul seem to be giving their engagement a real go, it's probably because he needs to collect a full set of data before he can make a decision, and she needs to know he's madly in love with her before she can cut him loose (see: how she split from Kwame).

Will they get married? No. The best thing their relationship has going for it is the fact that Irina, Micah's supposed BFF and fellow mean girl, is trying to break it up.

Tiffany and Brett

The best the Love Is Blind producers could do to fool us into thinking that maybe Tiffany and Brett—this season's most successful and stylish couple—weren't going to make it to the altar was create a storyline around Tiffany taking a nap. Okay, fine, it was a bit more dramatic than that—she fell asleep in the middle of a date with Brett. But still. The lovebirds made up in a matter of seconds, proving just how mature, caring and committed to each other they are. Everyone else, take notes.

Will they get married? They'd better!

Zack and Irina (+Bliss)

There's a moment in the pods when Zack, who's struggling to choose between polar opposites Bliss and Irina, tells the latter, "I think you're a little bit more vicious than I am." They should have broken up then and there, but instead they get engaged—because nothing says "I love you" like "you're vicious."

Things go downhill fast. Upon meeting Zack, Irina calls his eye contact creepy (she isn't wrong), and on vacation, she recoils from his touch. "The moment I saw Zack, it was like, 'I don't know who this man is,'" she tells Micah at the pool party. "And I was like, 'Maybe it's just scary.' ... But I've noticed every time he does touch me, I get, like, major ick."

Vicious or not, Irina deserves props for listening to her gut (she has more chemistry with Zack's childhood stuffed animal, Ralph, than she does with Zack) and holding fast to her boundaries. Not surprisingly, she and Zack break up.

Will they get married? Not even if you paid Irina a billon dollars. But Zack and Bliss? It looks like they may get a second chance at love.

Jackie and Marshall

Jackie is the queen of one-liners (our current favorite: "I know halitosis smell because I work in the dental field"), but is she the right fit for our sensitive, poetry-writing Marshall? She lets her guard down enough to cry in front of him, which is a good sign (she's willing to be vulnerable)—but she demands a lot of guesswork from her fiancé, and he appears to be in over his head.

Will they get married? Probably not. Jackie doesn't have the same level of emotional maturity as Marshall, and she's not going to get there on Love Is Blind's warp-speed timeline.

We'll update our predictions (with loads of spoilers) next Friday, March 31. Until then, enjoy this accurate summary of Irina and Micah's friendship.
