To paraphrase Ned Stark, Love Is Blind season 5 is coming. And it's so so coming soon! Netflix has been dropping some major deets about the upcoming season, and there's plenty to parse through before the new episodes hit the streamer. And with the Love Is Blind: After The Altar season 4 special episodes arriving on September 1, there is sure to be a lot of news to parse through.

ICYDK, the three-episode update on the season 4 cast will delve into everything the couples have been up to since the season ended, and it looks like it will be very juicy.

In case you forgot, Kwame and Chelsea, Tiffany and Brett, and Zack and Bliss successfully tied the knot last season. Zack and Bliss even had their first dance to Lee Ann Womack’s “I Hope You Dance,” just like they said they would. (BRB, crying.) As for Micah and Paul, well, their situation was a bit awkward. When asked to say “I do” or “I don't," Micah—unsure of where Paul stood in their relationship—asked him to state his decision. Spoiler, he said: “I don’t.” Yikes!

Season 4 was a wild ride for sure, so if you're anxiously awaiting more LIB content, here’s everything to know about season 5 so far—from the release date, to what fans can expect, to the full batch of new singles.

Women’s Health will update this story as more details are announced, so watch this space.

Is Love Is Blind season 5 confirmed?

Yes! In March 2022, Netflix announced that there would not only be a season 4 of Love Is Blind, but the reality series was also renewed for a fifth season (read on for more deets).

Similar to the previous four installments of the show, each season will feature “new singles and new cities,” the official statement from the streaming platform said.

When will season 5 be released?

Netflix finally confirmed that LIB season 5 will premiere on September 22, 2023. This is about when fans expected to see it dropping, based on the previous seasons' release schedules. Sadly, this season will not be released all at once, so you'll have to wait a few weeks before you get all the details. Here's a rundown of the season 5 episode drop dates:

Yup. There will reportedly be 10 episodes this season, in addition to the reunion specials.

Who’s in the cast of Love Is Blind season 5?

Unsurprisingly, the contestants for season 5 are still yet to be announced, but seeing as Netflix likes to drop a new season’s cast about two weeks before the series hits the streamer, viewers can expect to be introduced to this new batch of singles any day now—considering how close the season is to its premiere. It's also likely that Netflix could drop the new cast around the same time the season 4 ATA airs on Friday.

Oh, and a Khloe Kardashian Instagram post with alum Alexa Lemieux hinted at a potential future cameo. "I think some of us single K sisters should go on LIB. What do you think?" the reality star wrote. That would be *quite* the surprise.

Where does Love Is Blind season 5 take place?

The location has yet to be announced, but TODAY reported that this season takes place in Houston, which would make this the second Texas-based season (season 3 was shot in Dallas).

Fans know that the show’s production company typically chooses to cast and film in highly-populated U.S. cities. As a refresher, season 1 was set in Atlanta, Georgia; season 2 took place in Chicago, Illinois; season 3 occurred in Dallas, Texas; and season 4 was filmed in Seattle, Washington.

Another worthy guess for a future LIB season is Charlotte, North Carolina, since Kinetic Content posted a casting call for the city on Instagram last November. But that casting call could also have been for The Ultimatum, which dropped season 2 on Netflix this week, and used Charlotte as a host city.

Nick and Vanessa may be replaced soon.

Love Is Blind may have a refreshing season on the horizon with a former LIB couple taking over the hosting spotlight. Lauren Speed and Cameron Hamilton, a popular couple from the first season of LIB, could possibly replace the Lacheys soon, according to Page Six.

“If they want to keep their ratings up, there’s got to be a change," an insider LIB source told Page Six. “Viewers feel a connection with Lauren and Cameron because they are the real deal.”

Since it has already been filmed, Nick and Vanessa Lachey will continue to host the show through the fifth season. But what happens after that? Who knows. Netflix has never officially addressed these concerns.

In addition to the rumors, LIB fans are even pushing to have the couple replaced, saying they're "bad hosts" per Page Six. Fans have complained that the couple is biased, or simply boring. There's no official word on if, or when, the hosts will be replaced, but a current Change.org petition to remove Nick and Vanessa from the show currently has nearly 45,000 signatures.

When was season 5 filmed?

Nick Lachey, co-host of Love Is Blind with his wife Vanessa Lachey, previously told Women’s Health that the new season of the reality dating series has already been filmed. “We’ve filmed five seasons,” Nick said. “Every single one has been so different from the others, so that’s what makes it interesting.”

So while the exact dates of filming aren’t clear, fans can assume that season 5 was filmed at the same time as season 4—as was the case with seasons 2 and 3—or shortly thereafter.

What can fans expect from Love Is Blind season 5?

Like past seasons, viewers can expect to meet a brand new cast of 30 singles—15 men and 15 women—looking to try the experiment themselves. They’ll go on blind “pod” dates with their fellow contestants, hoping to make lasting connections—one of which will hopefully lead to an engagement, and, even better, marriage.

Plus, since it’s assumed that many of the new cast members have already seen previous seasons of Love Is Blind, fans can expect some more strategizing from these singles to better their chances at finding a soulmate.

Will there be any changes in Season 5?

The most recent season of LIB was met with a lot of criticism for its casting choices, and it former contestants have talked about alleged mistreatment—so hopefully some changes will be made.

Insider initially reported that cast members from previous seasons were expected to work 20-hour days, and were deprived of sleep, food, and water while working. Contestants from season 1 claimed that when they were allowed time to sleep, they had to share a one-room trailer that had cockroaches crawling around on its floor.

Contestants said that they were expected to drink an excess of alcohol and that they were allegedly threatened with a $50,000 fine if they left the production early. Many production assistants involved in the show told Insider that the LIB producers did not have contestants' "best interests in mind" while filming the show. Since Season 5 has already been filmed, it is likely some of these problems leaked into its production as well.

WH also recently investigated the show's casting decisions, finding that only 3 percent of women on the show have been plus-sized throughout its four seasons. Plus-sized women who've been on the show, such as Chassidy Mickale and Hope Antonello-Foli, also felt their bodies were given an unnecessary focus from producers and male contestants.

From Nick Lachey's perspective, the show has become more diverse as seasons go on: “There is quite a bit of diversity in the casting,” the host previously told WH. “Speaking as someone who’s there [sic] from day one, and sees all the people that are there from day one, I do think that they’ve [the casting directors] done a good job of trying to cast diversely and will continue to. You’ll see that in season three and four and five.”

Will there be a season 5 reunion?

Again, nothing official’s been announced yet, but considering that all other past seasons have had a reunion episode, it’s safe to assume that the answer is yes.

The season 4 reunion episode of Love Is Blind marks the first time ever the series’ reunion is streamed live. If well-received, fans can likely expect a live reunion episode of Love Is Blind season 5, too. Mark your cals for September 1.

Are there more Love Is Blind seasons in the works?

Netflix and Kinetic Content have yet to comment on the future of Love Is Blind after season 5. But, a casting call for season 6 was posted seven days ago, asking for contestants from Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota.

Plus, in September 2022, Mary Myers, a casting producer for the show, announced via Instagram that the dating series is also casting in Charlotte, N.C., Tampa, Fla., and Detroit, Mich. So, yes, it’s safe to assume that more seasons of the juggernaut reality dating series are indeed in the works.

What’s more? In an interview with Vanity Fair, Love Is Blind creator Chris Coelen guided reporter Natalie Jarvey through “a soundstage some 30 miles north of Los Angeles,” which in a few days following the date of reporting, was to be “filled with singles hoping to find love through a wall on Netflix’s compulsively watchable Love Is Blind.” So perhaps a season in the Los Angeles area is in the cards?
