The festive season is best spent with at least a few days hibernating at home. Happily, with the emergence of luxe loungewear and brands blurring the line between sleepwear and eveningwear, there has never been more on offer to pass the time in style- and if you find yourself needing to pop out, many of these new generation designs will pass muster, even look casually glamorous.

Here are five loungewear labels to love...

Olivia Von Halle

Missy moscow silk-cashmere tracksuit, £995.

Who's behind it? Olivia von Halle launched her eponymous label in 2011, after a career as a trends forecaster in London and China.

The Lowdown: Olivia saw a gap in the market for luxe loungewear that blurs the line between nightwear and ready-to-wear. Her classic designs come in a variety of rich jewel tones and prints. Now the brand has expanded into camisole sets, slips, robes, eye masks, puffa jackets. The most recent addition to the collection - The Missy - is a cashmere and silk tracksuit.

Nice touches: All Olivia's pieces can be monogrammed, from statement glitter lettering to classic embroidered script.

What's the damage: Pyjamas from £380, robes from £375,  Cashmere tracksuits, £995.

FIGS
FIGS

The Kiyoko slip in silver, £135

Who's behind it? FIGS was launched by British-born, LA based actress Scarlett Rose Patterson in 2017.

The Lowdown: Scarlett wanted a lifestyle brand that allowed a woman to feel feminine and empowered in her designs. Think silk slips and  robes in a rainbow of colours, and the softest cotton underwear. With a feminine fit and comfort central to the brand's ethos,  it has become an elevated loungewear option and a reasonable price point.

Nice touches: All of FIGS pieces are handmade in Los Angeles, and the brand refreshingly used a variety of body types to model the collection.

What's the damage: Silk slips from £110, and robes from £130.

The Lowdown: Initially launched as an athleisure brand designed to withstand the high intensity training of the world's leading ballet companies, Pepper and Mayne's move into luxury loungewear was a natural progression. Their Aprés Sport collection focuses on lightweight, breathable pieces in baby soft cashmere and cotton while the capri pants, ballet wraps and sweaters and hoodies are perfect for layering.

Nice touches: The brand is committed to a fully traceable supply chain, with a focus on ethical trade and sustainability.
