The success of Zelda stormed the software market this May, with game sales up nearly 30% compared with the same period last year, leading to over 2.17 million titles sold.
A brand-new study released by social poker platformReplay Poker reveals the most popular Legend of Zelda characters across each state.
Ash Keene, Operations Manager said “The ‘Zelda’ series, developed by Shigeru Miyamoto for Nintendo has produced several classics, repeatedly pushing the boundaries of video games.
"The most recent release, ‘Tears Of The Kingdom, is the best-reviewed game of 2023 according to Metacritic, after receiving overwhelmingly positive reviews from critics as Link and Zelda begin their adventure side by side, Keene continued.
Using a seed list of every Legend of Zelda character and Google searc data they examined the search volumes across the country.
The Legend of Zelda characters receiving the most monthly searches in Louisiana are as follows:
Zelda takes the top spot, with an average of 1,462 monthly searches.
Link ranks in second place, with an average of 400 monthly searches.
Sheik is third most popular, with 99 monthly searches on average.
Zelda is an elf-like princess of the kingdom of Hyrule, an associate of the protagonist Link, and bearer of the Triforce of Wisdom. While she is the eponymous character, Zelda is not necessarily the playable protagonist. That would be the second most popular character, Link. The survey does not explain how many people searching for Zelda may have fallen for the rather common confusion between the two characters, as Link is most often prominently featured on the games' covers and advertising.
Link is the soul of a legendary hero that throughout history is reincarnated within a seemingly ordinary boy or man when the need arises for a new warrior to defeat the forces of evil.
Nationally, the top five are rounded out by Tingle in fourth place, and Navi in fifth place.
Ganondorf is defeated in this list, not even breaking the top 5.
