“Oscar was an avid gardener,” said Alex Bolen, CEO of Oscar de la Renta. “The opportunity to be part of the Lotusland Gala seemed like a great collaboration for all of us.” And on Saturday night, Bolen was joined by Santa Barbara’s most stylish for the annual event, which takes place in the iconic gardens. As pieces from the American fashion house’s Pre-Fall and Fall collections were sprinkled throughout the lush greenery, guests including Chriselle Lim and Marianna Hewitt took in the elegantly appointed settings.

“Oscar had a succulent ‘room’ in his garden in the Dominican Republic,” added Bolen who shared that it was the design of Lotusland that inspired De la Renta. And it makes sense for the house to celebrate out West as this year’s gala coincides with the opening of a pop-up boutique (open through the end of August) designed by cocreative director Laura Kim’s sister, Jeang Kim. And what would Mr. De la Renta have thought of the weekend’s affair? “He adored Lotusland,” said Bolen.
