After Losing Her Beloved Horse, Owner Finds a Beautiful Sign from Heaven — See Her Proof!

For the last 20 years Woman’s World magazine has featured the weekly “My Guardian Angel” column, where real women share first-person accounts of their amazing encounters with Angels. Now, we are sharing those heartwarming stories of loving comfort, Heaven-sent helpers and miraculous rescues online with the mission of continuing to spread hope and light.

Here, Woman’s World reader A. Lee Harris was missing her beloved horse, Mica, when she received a tangible sign that gave her peace.

A. Lee’s Guardian Angel story told in her own words:

"Eight years ago, I received a call from a local tribal professional, asking if our pasture could be used for an abandoned horse that was found on their property. The mare was emaciated, delirious and in need of solace. But with good feed, medical care, groundwork and loving time, she learned to trust and showed what a wonderful horse she truly was.

"We found the perfect name for her from the tribal Mica (mee’ka), which means 'meant to be.' She was that to me. I felt blessed to have her, and thought maybe my angel sent her to me to help fill the void left after losing my wonderful therapy horse the fall before.

"The spirit residing in Mica was so loving, kind and accepting that I started using her with the kiddos I counseled. She stood peaceful for long hugs, gave many controlled rides, attentively listened to secrets when some wanted alone time with Mica. She consoled them with light touches of her nose to their hearts.

"During the pandemic, Mica roamed our seven acres, enjoying chats with the neighbors over the fence. In early February, she suddenly collapsed. With help from neighbors, we settled her in her warm room. But as it turned out, it just gave us all a chance to say goodbye as Mica passed two days later. Several neighbors helped with her burial in her favorite spot in the pasture.

"It was difficult for me, so my husband and my sister planned a trip to the coast. Being a retired mental health counselor, I understood the process of grieving and was accepting it. Still, tears came easily.

"But the getaway to the beach was much needed and very healing. On the last day, enjoying the beach and the sound of the waves, I looked down and saw a heart-shaped stone. I picked it up and saw it was surrounded with barnacles, like a fringe — or a horse’s mane.

"I showed it to my husband and he stated it perfectly, 'Now you have a tangible sign of the peace Mica is experiencing.' I believe it was sent to me from Mica, and now, I hold it when I’m missing her, and I feel complete peace."
