A source close to Lori tells People that the couple-who pleaded not guilty in the college admissions cheating scandal-are all kinds of bothered over the backlash they’re getting from...well, everyone. ’Cause guys! They, too, were hustled, scammed, bamboozled, hoodwinked, and lead astray!!!
“This is putting unspeakable stress on [Lori] and her family,” the source says. “They’re having to play this all out publicly and they’re fair game for jokes and memes, but [they’re] also outraged [by] people who are saying that they are cheaters.” The source also dramatically adds that “they’re being destroyed.”
Yikes. But at least they’re here for the jokes and memes?!
Unfortunately, Lori and Mossimo’s negative moment in the spotlight isn’t about to let up. Thanks to their not-guilty pleas (and the previous rejection of a plea deal), they could go to trial.
“The idea of going to trial is terrifying for Lori,” the source says. “Everything comes out in trial, whether or not it’s relevant to the case. She will be under a microscope, and you only have to look at the paparazzi outside the court to know that there is widespread interest in this case. She will lose every bit of her privacy, and that’s a shame. This really is a family matter.”
