If you're like us, you're diving right into the new TV series Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power on Amazon Prime Video. The show chronicles the realms of Middle-earth thousands of years before the events of The Hobbit and the original Lord of the Rings books.

As if the cast of familiar and new characters and breathtaking special effects weren't captivating enough, now you can transport your taste buds to Middle-earth with an exclusive lineup of Lord of the Rings-inspired recipes. Celebrity chef and restaurateur Marcus Samuelsson has partnered with Amazon to create seven recipes that draw inspiration from the cultures found in J.R.R. Tolkien's magical world.

“I can see people cooking around this, having dinners, sharing recipes, doing gatherings and it’s super social," said Samuelsson in an interview with Amazon. "It’s kind of fun to have dinners and meals in between [episodes] every week. Cooking is so much about building a community and sharing."

We had the chance to try some of these recipes, cooked by Samuelsson himself, at a celebration in honor of Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power's premiere. Here are some of our favorite dishes:

Eregion: Fried Chicken with Braised Collard Greens

Inspired by the rare elven kingdom of Eregion, Samuelsson made one of the dishes he's most known for—fried chicken. While people travel from all over the world to try his version at his Harlem restaurant, Red Rooster, now you can cook his Lord of the Rings-themed fried chicken alongside braised collard greens. The accompanying sauces is a sticky-sweet glaze with a spicy kick.

Dwarves: Spiced Lamb Shoulder Chops with Salt Roasted Beets and Herbed Labneh

Samuelsson created this dish in honor of the Dwarven race of Middle-earth. Their cities reach the far depths of the earth, and these spiced lamb chops have a similarly earthy flavor. The complex spice blend paired with roasted beets and herb yogurt captures the world of Middle-earth—while still tasting straight out of a classy modern restaurant.

Númenor: Apricot Almond Olive Oil Cake with Vanilla Bean Crème Fraîche

There's no better way to round out a Lord of the Rings-themed meal than with dessert. For this dish, Samuelsson harkens back to his time spent on the Mediterranean, where the terrain resembles the island kingdom of Númenor. An almond olive oil cake is studded with apricots and topped with a tangy vanilla crème fraîche. "It’s sweet but not too sweet, delicate, and just the perfect bite after a nice seaside meal,” said Samuelsson.

You can try all of these recipes and more at home.
