Loose Threads: Denham, Guess, Mother and Levi’s

Here’s a quick roundup of the latest drops and collaborations from leading denim brands.

Denham

Denham celebrates the spirit of the dragon in a Chinese New Year collection. The limited-edition lineup honors the wood dragon, 2024’s protagonist of the Chinese zodiac.

Denham’s signature scissor logo gets a dragon-like makeover across a range of women’s and men’s cotton hoodies and T-shirts.

The collection is available now and retails for $90-$985.

Guess

Guess reopened its Las Vegas store just in time for the Super Bowl rush on Sunday.

The Los Angeles-based denim brand celebrated the grand re-opening of its store at the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace.

The two-story, 12,413-square-foot store is strategically positioned in the center of one of Sin City’s main shopping destinations. Known for its spiral escalators and hourly Atlantis Show, the Forum is home to denim names like Levi’s, 7 For All Mankind, John Varvatos and Zadig & Voltaire as well as luxury labels like Gucci, Balenciaga and Saint Laurent.

The new location is centrally located near the luxury wing on the casino level. Guess’ trend-led mainline collections in apparel and denim are at the heart of the store. Shoppers can also find a selection of the brand’s fine jewelry and lingerie lines and Guess’ sister brand, Marciano.

Additional services offered by the store include in-store pickup and curbside pickup.

Mother Denim

Mother Denim found a likeminded partner in Clare V., the Cali-meets-Paris women’s ready-to-wear and accessories label. The two brands released a capsule collection that pays homage to their Los Angeles roots and indie vibes.

Denim items include the Belle Vest and the Pleated Belle Prep Heel trouser. Both are made with semi-rigid denim and a vintage blue wash. An oversized striped button-down shirt and LA-themed graphic slogan tees—which both brands are known for—round out the apparel line.

The collection, which retails for $59-$345, also includes a fanny pack, floral tote bag, shoulder strap, leather belt and baseball cap.

Levi’s

Levi’s may be eyeing opportunities in chinos and tech pants, but the denim giant still has love for jeans. The brand relaunched its 517 Bootcut jean, a style introduced in 1969 under the coveted Orange Tab line and became a fixture during the counterculture movement of the ’60s and ’70s.

Three versions of the jean, which was designed for boot wearers to be full from the knee down, is available.

The 517 Bootcut offers a modern take on original design and sits at the waist.

Only 800 pairs of the Levi’s Vintage Clothing 1970s 517 Bootcut, a “stitch-for-stitch reproduction” of the classic ’70s, is available. The jean is made from 12 oz. pre-shrunk White Oak Cone Mills denim. It comes packaged in a “Saddleman Boot Jeans” packaging, highlighting their early popularity among cowboys.

Levi’s also offers the Sta-Prest Flare, a wrinkle-free flare that features a permanent center crease for the first time on true indigo denim.
