As Halloween candy begins rolling out on shelves, you may notice that an old favorite has made its return. Mars, Incorporated first released M&M’s Cookies & Screeem in 2017, but it was only around for that one year … until now. The flavor has made its comeback to shelves for the 2021 season.

The orange, black, and white candy pieces have a crunchy, dark chocolate outer shell that’s stuffed with what tastes like creme-filled cookies. It’s basically as if Oreos were turned into a smooth filling and transferred inside M&M’s. Uh, yes, please!

The limited-edition M&M’s Cookies & Screeem flavor is available in 1.41- and 7.44-ounce bags. Now all we need is for Mars to put them in fun-size ones so that we can hand them out to trick-or-treaters on Halloween.

M&M’s is one of those brands that will jump in on seasonal flavors as much as they can, and boy, do we appreciate it. You might remember that in 2017, the candy company released a Cookies & Screeem flavor especially for Halloween. It’s been 4 long years, but it appears that the variety is making a comeback for 2021.

The spooky treat includes dark chocolate and white chocolate, and was designed to taste like a chocolatey creme-filled sandwich cookie. So if you’re into Oreos — and who isn’t? — the Cookies & Screeem will give you a similar taste.

“With a delicious chocolate candy taste and a fun crunchy outer shell, these chocolates may even remind you of your favorite creme-filled cookies!” the description says.

Thanks to a tip from Instagram account @tmc_reviews, we found that the M&M’s Cookies & Screeem candies have been listed online. Meijer put the Halloween candy on its site on Mar. 27, so kudos to them for getting a head start on the tasty news we crave. The difference this time around, however, is that instead of an outer black shell with white speckles, these are a mix of black, white, and orange candies.

If history has taught us anything, it’s that M&M’s typically releases its Halloween flavors, like the Creepy Cocoa Crisp, during the summertime. So it’s not outlandish to believe that these will be making their way to shelves this upcoming July or August. There’s no such thing as looking forward to a holiday treat too far in advance, if you ask us.
