Looking for plant-based dishes? These local restaurants are part of Lexington Vegan Week

It’s spring, which means Lexington Vegan Week is back, highlighting some of the city’s best plant-based eating.

Nine local places are participating in this year’s event, which is April 19-28. This year’s event is organized by Black Soil Kentucky, which has information about hours and delivery options on its web site, blacksoilky.com.

Items generally are available at regular menu prices, usually under $20.

There also will be a plant-based cooking class on April 20 at La Bonne Vie at 1060 Chinoe Rd., which also will host a Chef’s Table Vegan Dinner Experience on April 26.

There also will be a special Yalla Y’all Passover or Pesach pop-up event on April 28 at The Annex at 732 National Ave. (formerly Myriad Meadery), with a menu pf Sesame Tzimmes (roasted carrots and root veg with dried fruit in a sweet and spicy sauce.)

Bourbon n’ Toulouse, 829 Euclid Ave. and 1080 S. Broadway Suite 107: Thai Peanut Sauce with baby corn, fresh mushrooms and sweet red bell peppers served over white rice and a side of toasted Sunrise Bakery French bread and vegan Cajun butter. Also available: BBQ Jack Fruit Sandwich, Black Beans and Rice.

Lussi Brown Coffee Bar, 114 Church St.: Pennies From Heaven, a double shot espresso over house-made vanilla syrup with Black Soil Ky basil, lemon and tonic, on ice.

Moody Mike’s Food Truck, 962 Delaware Ave.: Sage Sausage Sliders with thick cut potato wedges, in addition to regular all-vegan menu.

North Lime Coffee & Donuts, 101 W. Loudon Ave. in Greyline Station and 3101 Clays Mill Rd.: Glazed Carrot Cake Donut.

Pearl’s Pizza, 133 N. Limestone: Dirt Farmer pizza with tomato sauce, arugula, artichoke, ricotta, fennel sausage and Parmesan.

Rolling Oven, 725 National Ave.: Caprese Pizza topped with olive oil, tomatoes, garlic, vegan cheese, fresh basil and balsamic reduction.

Woke Junk Food Vegan, 440 Hilltop Ave.: Fried Vegan Shrimp Taco with a side of street corn.

Zundo Izakaya, 127 W. Tiverton Way #184: Vegan Shotu Ramen with bamboo shoots, seaweed and green onion. Fried tofu bao bun, avocado salad and vegan sushi roll also available.
