What's new at Oxmoor Center? Louisville-based gift store to open first location this fall
On the search for a great Kentucky-themed gift? A new store opening next month wants to set you up with the perfect pair.
Of socks, that is.
Buy Socks You All — a Louisville-based company founded in 2019 — will hold a grand opening for its first standalone store at 11 a.m. Sept. 1 in the Oxmoor Center, 7900 Shelbyville Road.
The brand sells a variety of fun socks with themes around different states, holidays and drinks (including bourbon). And while you can already find its products online and at a sibling shop locally, the new site will give customers another place to buy its full line of items — including glassware, puzzles, T-shirts and jewelry.
"For us, it's not just about socks but about creating footprints of style and embracing individuality," co-owner Daniel Maddox said in a press release. "This grand opening is the realization of our passion, and we want to invite everyone to step in and be part of this exciting journey with us."

Buy Socks You All currently sells its products at Work the Metal, a gift and clothing store in Butchertown Market owned by two of the sock company's founders, Jack Mathis and Andy Blieden.
Maddox and Jennifer Hardin, two more co-founders, also own Layne Wilson, a home décor brand.
Mathis said all of Buy Socks You All's socks are designed in Louisville. And the company decided to open a storefront after finding success at several pop-up locations.
Mathis said Oxmoor Center is a great fit for the brand, and he's looking forward to opening in the mall in time for the holidays.
The store will be decorated in a '70s disco theme, he said, which visitors will also see reflected in some of its merchandise.
The brand typically launches new designs each spring and fall. And the store will feature new Indiana-themed socks, as well as additions for Halloween and Christmas.
Mathis said he hopes the brand will continue to expand its product lines. While there are no concrete plans for a second location at this time, he added the brand might explore other stores if they see success at Oxmoor.
